Week in Review (3/6/2022)

Wow, what a busy week of cooking!  I ended up making some fantastic, and some not so fantastic dishes this week.  Today we are going to go over the winning and losing dish for the week.

Starting with a fantastic new recipe, the winner this week was the Harissa Chicken with Kale!

This dish was amazing!  Most recipes I find I usually end up having to tweak quite a bit to work out kinks such as flavors, cooking time, etc.  With this, I only had to make two small tweaks to get it perfect.  The flavors are out of this world even with a super simple recipe, which is always a winner in my book.  This is also a one pot meal AND makes 3-4 servings so you can either enjoy it for more than one day.

Recipe has finally been posted and can be found here.

For the loser this week, I kind of hate to say it, but it was the French Onion Casserole.

I really wanted this one to be a winner, but while it didn’t taste bad, it was just so incredibly heavy and seemed to be missing something taste-wise.  Because this wasn’t a winner I’m not posting the recipe yet.  I’m going to mess around with it, I think if it was made without the cream, maybe replace that with some wine and extra broth, and add more spices, that this one can be salvaged.  At least it does look yummy in pictures!

Oh well, they can’t always be winners!

Keep an eye out tomorrow for what’s on the menu for next week!
